Allyson Dennin, Psy.D

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 7 years of experience treating clients from adolescents to adulthood.  I work with clients to untangle long-standing emotional patterns, make sense of where they come from, and develop new ways of relating—to others and to themselves.  My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and grounded in attachment theory, somatic processing, and family systems work.

I tailor my approach to what each client needs and what they bring with them to the space. Warmth, compassion, and encouragement are woven into all approaches I utilize. I ask deep and insightful questions to help clients better understand root causes that are contributing to the struggles they face in the present moment while giving support to help make changes to break out of unhelpful patterns. Together, we’ll make sense of your emotional experiences, understand the roots of relational patterns, and empower you to create change without guilt or self-blame.

Education & Background

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Widener University’s Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology. Throughout my doctoral training, I gained extensive experience in a variety of settings, including inpatient, school-based, community mental health, and outpatient care. My internship and Postdoctoral experiences were focused on integrating traditional psychotherapy with Neurofeedback and Biofeedback approaches. I hold certifications in both Neurofeedback and Biofeedback. While I have since transitioned into providing traditional psychotherapy, I still utilize somatic and holistic interventions I learned throughout those experiences to focus on more of an entire system approach both with my individual and couples clientele.
